Blog EntryAway from the SunJul 5, '08 10:53 PM
for everyone
It's down to this
I've got to make this life m
ake sense
Can anyone tell what
I've done?
I miss the life
I miss the colors of the world

Can anyone tell where I am?

Cause now again I've found myself
So far down
Away from the sun that shines into
The darkest place
I'm so far down
Away from the sun again
Away from the sun again

I'm over this
I'm tired of living in the dark
Can anyone see me down here?
The feeling's gone
There's nothing left to lift me up
Back into the world I know

Cause now again I've found myself
So far down
Away from the sun that shines into
The darkest place
I'm so far down
Away from the sun

That shines to light the way for me
To find my way
Back into the arms that care about
The ones like me
I'm so far down

Away from the sun again

It's down to this
I've got to make this life make sense

And now I can't tell what I've done
And now again I've found myself
So far down

Away from the sun that shines
To light the way
For me

Cause now again I've found myself
So far down
Away from the sun that shines into

The darkest place
I'm so far down
Away from the sun
That shines to light the way for me
To find my way
Back into the arms that care about
The ones like me
I'm so far down

Away from the sun again

I'm gone...

A new friend of mine told me to listen to this song.  It speaks of what I am feeling right now.  I'm so far down, I need to get back up again.

3 Doors Down is an American band from Escatawpa Mississippi lead by Brad Arnold. I'm sure you know them from their songs "Kryptonite" and "Be Like That" from their first album "The Better Life". After that I don't know what happened with them anymore. I just recently learned that they have already released their fourth (self-titled) studio album.

The album debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Charts making it the band's second consecutive #1 album on the chart after their album "Seventeen Days". I hope this 4th album will do good as well. Here are some of the songs that I liked from "3 Doors Down".

"She Don't Want the World" for me is just so sad and depressing. The girl has just lost so much and has forgotten her dreams and just wants what she has now. I don't want to be this kind of person. I have to continue dreaming. I want everything coming true. I want the world.

Blog Entry2008 MTV Movie AwardsJun 2, '08 11:36 AM
for everyone
I miss those days when I was so hooked on MTV!  If I were in high school right now, I'm sure I'll be sleeping late or "attempting" to study while watching the MTV Movie Awards.  I guess I don't belong to that generation of the MTV "crowd" anymore.

But anyway, watching the list of winners, I was pleased to know that "Transformers" won Best Movie and "Iron Man" won Best Summer Movie So Far.  Both movies I watched together with someone special that I can not have.  Whew!  I wish things were different and that person is free as a butterfly.  But unfortunately not.  Well well story of my life...

Its happening guys!  A new M. Night Shyamalan flick is coming up.

I loved M. Night for his movies: "The Sixth Sense", "Unbreakable", "Signs", & "The Village".  But with "Lady in the Water" gosh it was just a mess.  It is best kept on VHS.

"The Happening" will be released on June 13, 2008 (Friday the 13).  The plot involves a neurotoxin, set to destroy the human race which, when a human comes into contact with it, results in a horrific death caused by the person themselves. A science teacher named Elliot Moore played by Mark Wahlberg, attempts to escape from the substance with his wife and friends as hysteria grips the planet.

Will this be another commercial disappointment for M. Night?  I hope it won't be cause I will (hope to) be watching it!

I'll be loving you forever

The NKOTB are back! Yikes!  The appropriate name should be OKOTB hehe.  But I'm not here to discuss about why they even came back (It's Donnie's fault LOL).  I'm here to promote their new single (without pay!) <<jordan knight fan>>

I guess the rumors that circulated early this year regarding their comeback is true.

They already have a sold-out US tour. Its true! Check out their site http://www.nkotb.com/

Their new album will be scheduled for a September release with the carrier single "Summertime" <<download here>>

About the song, its very nostalgic.  I like the beat but to me it still sounds very dated (sorry).  It has that '80s/'90s kind of feel to it.  But its a fun summer (love) song. The part I liked and pretty much sums up what the song is about =)

Summer ended,
Winter started,
It got colder,
When we parted ways

Winter melted,
Spring I felt it,
Summertime will never be the same,
[Without you, my summertime]
My summertime

Blog EntrySex and the City: The Movie & SoundtrackMay 24, '08 11:02 AM
for everyone
I was watching HBO earlier and (for the first time) saw the trailer of Sex and the City: The Movie.  What really caught my attention was the background music.  It is originally a Don Henley song entitled "The Heart of the Matter" and was later covered by India Arie on her 2006 album Testimony Vol. 1: Life & Relationship.

The song is mainly about forgiveness.  For me this is about a guy who's girlfriend left him and they did not broke up in good terms.  I can sense by the way Don Henley tells the story that the girl was the one angry or is still holding a grudge to the guy.  The guy has obviously moved on but the girl has not.  The girl has gone through a lot other relationships but it seems that it always failed because she is stuck with her former relationship.  The guy is trying to figure out what is wrong and he has come to understand that the best thing for her to do (the heart of the matter) is to forget about the past and forgive him even if she doesn't love him anymore.  This is the only way for the girl to be free.

For me India Arie's version, the way she delivers the words, simply gives more clarity to the story but undeniably amazing lyrics by Don Henley.

Going back to the movie.  It opens on June 4, 2008 (in the Philippines).  Although there are still no official story plot released, based on the movie trailer and press releases, it focuses mainly on Carrie's (and) BIG wedding but also includes Miranda's problem with Steve's infidelity, Charlotte's pregnancy, and Samantha's life in a monogamous relationship.  The movie also casts Jennifer Hudson as Louise, playing the part of Carrie's assistant.  I am excited to watch this flick!

I have listened to the soundtrack and I can say that its something to watch out for.  It has amazing covers of "How Deep is Your Love", "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", and especially a Scots version of "Auld Lang Syne".  Very nostalgic indeed.  It also features (I believe) new tracks from Stacy Ann Fergosun (a.k.a Fergie) and Jennifer Hudson.  The soundtrack is scheduled to be released May 27, 2008.  Its a good addition to soundtracks of your life! =)

This is my second movie for 2008. So sad =( I only get to watch movies when I'm on vacation/sick leave. I am that busy these days.

Robert Downey Jr. stars as Anthony "Tony" Edward Stark a wealthy industrialist, who owns Stark Industries whose main business is in military weapons. His trip to Afghanistan to sell weapons led to his kidnap by a warlord who wants him to build a powerful missile "Jericho". Instead he built a powered exoskeleton and became the hero "Iron Man". The movie also stars Gwenyth Paltrow who plays "Pepper Potts" Stark's personal assistant, Terrence Howard as "James Rhodes" friend and military liaison, and Jeff Bridges as the villain "Obadiah Stane".

Overall its an entertaining movie. It is a mix of action, humor, and some romance. It is almost in the same zone as "Transformers" but I'm missing more of the action when Tony Stark is already the Iron Man. It's like the end part is just the middle and I so much wanted more!

I did notice something wrong with the storyline. Tony Stark was kidnapped because a warlord wanted to force him to make a powerful missile. Stark Industries is double dealing with the US Government and the terrorists. So why still kidnap the guy when they can just easily buy it from Stark Industries as they are already in business with them. Just a thought! =)

Gavin DeGraw is Back!! Yehhheeyyyy.

Gavin's previous album "Chariot" was the soundtrack of my life! Now comes an addition to that! I just love how this guy writes and sings his songs. You can see the raw emotion and sincerity all the time. Its always very personal and real.

He has really touched me (at least) the way he wanted this album to be. I really felt the connection. "Gavin DeGraw" the album is a mix of a rockish "In Love With A Girl", playful-sexy-flirty "Next to Me" & "Cop Stop", and a bluesy "Young Love". The album is much about Gavin's experience in love - the ups and downs. As Gavin puts it "It’s about different relationships, my mindset in those relationships and just a poetic reflection of the stuff I’ve gone through.”

My Top 3 favorite songs from the album - She Holds A Key, We Belong Together, I Have You To Thank.

Album Out Today!!! Grab a copy everyone! (in Finland, Greece, UK) hehe. My kababayans... wait till the 19th for your copy yohoo...

I'm not a super fan of the guy but he is one of the few artist that I don't fail to listen (at least once a year) or (try to uhmmm) sing his songs. Mind you they are difficult! I could not forget the day I murdered "You and I Both" hahaha... For the witnesses keep it on a down low.

I am not 100% happy with the album. It felt jazzy to me. I kinda miss those "Curbside Prophet" and "Remedy" kind of sound and vibe. But there are 4 songs that I loved.

Obviously there's the overplayed but remixed version of "I'm Yours". "A Beautiful Mess" is the one I loved the most. Well it doesn't apply to me that well because I'm not in a serious relationship or in a relationship with someone at all! hmmppp! But anyway the song is about having that special someone whom you have come to love for everything that he or she is. Its like having the best of both worlds. The good and the bad. No matter what you love him or her. Hayyy wish ko lang magkaroon ng ganito! Then theres "If It Kills Me" which is a song about loving or falling in love with someone who is in love with someone else or already has someone else. Tongue twisting huh... You just want to say it to that person but you can't or will not do it even if it kills you! The 4th song is "Lucky" which is a duet with Colbie Caillat. As always its a feel good song. Very nice to hear this in the morning....

The Forbidden Kingdom (Chinese: 功夫之王) is a 2008 Hollywood martial arts-adventure film from Lionsgate and The Weinstein Company directed by Rob Minkoff. It is the first film to star together two of the most well-known names in the martial arts film genre, Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Nothing much to say about the film. It was just an OK performance from both of these over rated actors coming together in an over rated and over hyped movie. =) So why did I watch it in the first place? Nothing else to see that time =)

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He asked the students again if the jar was now full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. 'Yes' was the reply.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the grains of sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognise that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things: your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favourite passions. And if everything else was lost and only they remained; your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff.'

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.  The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the shower. Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend.'

Yes I am!

/What's the point of this song? Or even singing?/
/You've already gone, why am I clinging?/
/Well I could throw it out, and I could live without/
/And I could do it all for you/
/I could be strong/
/Tell me if you want me to lie/
/'Cause this has got to die/

/And she may rise, if I sing you down/
/And she may wisely cling to the ground/
/Cause I'm lately horny/
/So why would she take me horny?/

Hehehe... I am currently listening to Damien Rice's tracks from the Album "9". I wanted to listed to this album since late October 2007 but didn't quite find the time to do so. Just this week I was listening to it and I was shocked! Amazing tracks and sang very emotionally. If only I have mad song writing skills my album would sound like this!

I can't decide which songs I don't like. It is that good (for me)! ")

Blog EntryBad Hair DayApr 7, '08 7:00 AM
for everyone
Monday April 7, 2008

I was off to have my hair cut that day.  I was really thinking of going Britney (my idol yey!), but I don't think I can work it.  I tried it once in high school for the CAT but I don't see it happening again soon.  So I had my mind set to have the same boring cut.  I arrived at the salon around 3pm and to my surprise it was jam packed.  I said to myself "Damn I should have just got here a couple of hours earlier" (of course in bisaya!).

So I forced myself inside the salon, among a number of people standing in front of door, and managed to get myself a seat and signal the crew to put me on the waiting list. A few other people came and stop by to ask how long should they wait to get their turn.  A lady from the salon (Lady Jane) just said that she can't tell because everyone in their staff is attending somebody.

A few minutes passed and there was this European mom with her two kids.  Lady Jane was just so happy to see her as if she was not busy.  She was just scrambling to free somebody from the salon crew just to accomodate this foreign lady.  I was thinking WTF!  I wore again my Miranda Priestly smile and further on my mind saying that we Filipinos think highly of Foreigners.  Our hospitality extends too much when it comes to these people.  Imagine she freed up some of the stools inside the salon and even asked me to move somewhere else to make room for the foreign mom.  But what about the others that were waiting as well?  They are also customers and people capable of paying the same for the services they want.  It was just a shame.  Where is our sense of nationalism?  I feel that they are still superior even in our own country.  What is that thing they shout over in rallies to fight and support for the Filipinos?  Does this happen only in Pacquiao's fights?  Hmmm.. I dunno what to think anymore.  It was just wrong. Aaahhh....

P.S.  I did not like my haircut :(  But I liked it the last time I was there.
